At the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF), we are profoundly aware of the human behaviors and systems rapidly accelerating climate change, as well as the far-reaching impacts on the natural environments and communities essential for humanity to thrive in the spirit of adventure travel. Our commitment to sustainable adventure travel goes hand in hand with our dedication to supporting grassroots communities as they lead conservation efforts around the world. We recognize the invaluable role that Indigenous communities play in preserving the environmental and cultural richness of their lands. Despite only stewarding 22 percent of the world's land, Indigenous territories protect 80 percent of the planet's biodiversity.
