ADOPT A PROJECT

The Adventure Travel Fund Adopt a Project program

Each year the ATCF gives away ALL of its available grant funding to the top voted-on projects. However, there are still several incredible projects on the ballot that the ATCF did not have enough funding to support. Launched in 2017, The Adopt a Project program allows any ATCF members, or others in the travel and outdoor community, to contribute funding towards the remaining projects, with the aim to get other incredible projects fully funded.

Why should you care?

Each project on our ballot has been nominated by an ATCF member, as well as thoroughly screened for viability, success and high impacts by our staff, Board of Directors, and advisory teams. You can:

  • Have confidence knowing that these projects have gone through a thorough and democratic review process that the industry supports.

  • Trust that these projects adhere to rigorous guidelines for the duration of the project timeline set by the ATCF

  • Ensure that you are supporting a project that will deliver meaningful and significant impact to international adventure travel destinations.

  • Connect to the ATCF member network of companies leading the industry in conserving and protecting adventure travel destinations

  • Recognition to your community of your commitment to protecting the invaluable assets.

Thanks to our members who generously supported these projects through our Adopt a Project program:

Ways to Fund Projects

  • Flat cash contribution - this is the most efficient way to get these projects underway.

  • Fundraise from clients/customers/community – ATCF can support through providing marketing collateral

  • Match giving – company commits to backing project by x amount and seeks contributions from their community to meet the minimum matching amount for full project funding.

  • Joint funding in your value-chain with companies vested in a specific destination or key conservation issue (example: water conservation, animal protection).

Please reach out to us if you have creative ways you would like to raise funding for the project of your choosing, or if you would like more ideas and examples of how funding has been raised in the past.  If you are interested in adopting a project and need additional time to raise funds, please contact us.  Some of our past adopters have taken 4-6 months to raise the full amount for project adoption.

Contact Soraya (soraya@atconservationfund.org) for list of current projects available for funding. If you are interested in funding a specific conservation project from this most recent cycle or past ballots, please fill out the following information and we will be in touch with you shortly.

Applications for the Adopt a Project Program are accepted on a rolling basis. Preference is given to organizations who are able to fund these projects at 100% of the funding request. If you are interested in partially funding a project, please contact Soraya Shattuck (soraya@atconservationfund.org).
