EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND

Emergency Response Fund

The ATCF Emergency Response Fund (ERF) offers urgent assistance to international destinations when a crisis strikes. From pandemics to earthquakes to wildfires, and everything in between, the ERF offers financial relief and support to quickly respond to, and recover from, unplanned disasters. We work closely with our members and partners in the disaster destinations to identify reliable, impactful, local organizations and travel businesses most in need.

“This is where we come together, as travelers and businesses who depend on the protection of the wildlife, habitats and local communities, to have the biggest impact in helping these destinations recover. Let us show the world how all travelers and the global travel community become stewards for the planet.” - Soraya Shattuck, ATCF Executive Director

Our top priorities with the ERF are to:

  1. To disburse immediate funding for urgent emergency response

  2. Provide funding to organizations to rebuild and recover from the disaster

  3. To responsibly allocate funds to the organization most impactful and in need

Fund Rangers, Stop Poaching

The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted tourism and as a result reduced funding for anti poaching programs which has subsequently resulted in an increase in poaching of endangered and threatened species.

Rebuilding Australia

The destruction from the 2019 Australian bushfires is nothing short of catastrophic. The ATCF partnered with REI Adventures to raise over $20,000 to provide immediate relief funds.
