Established in 2016, the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund is a community of travel-related companies who believe that small, targeted projects can make a big difference in conservation. Although lean, our organization has awarded over half a million dollars to some 33 projects. We have a membership of over 70 businesses in the travel and outdoor industries around the world including brands such as ATTA, Eagle Creek, ExOfficio, REI Adventures, Backroads, Toad & Co, and MiiR.

Available Positions

Fundraising Consultant

Raising sufficient capacity funding is critical to the future success of the Adventure Travel Conservation Fund (ATCF). We are looking to raise funds primarily to support our operations/capacity, and to also increase our grant funds. We are seeking a skilled, successful and experienced Fundraising Consultant. This role serves the ATCF by developing a strategic fundraising plan, based on sound funding strategies, systems and skills needed to drive revenue growth for the organization. We are looking for a candidate who will deliver solid results, strengthen our internal fundraising processes, and grow our fundraising capacity over time.

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in fundraising and have strong skills to: ● Conduct prospect research both within our current member base and prospective membership to determine where the best opportunities for significant donations exist. ● Develop a solid executable strategy that will deliver the highest return on our investment. ● Outline priorities designed to establish where to focus our time, energy and resources efficiently and effectively.

● Create a set of strategic approaches and tactics for fundraising designed to make significant progress in growing revenues and set the ATCF up for future and long term financial growth.

● Establish clear goals, milestones, timelines/calendars and KPI's to create a solid road-map for successful execution of the plan.

● Develop "how to" training and tactics outlining responsibilities, deliverables and accountability of all board members.

Job Skills and Qualifications

● Minimum 3-5 Years of results-oriented fund raising experience with small to medium size organizations.

● Excellent interpersonal skills.

● Strong leadership skills

● Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail

● Excellent oral and written skills.

● Self-starter, independent working with a high degree of accountability.

Scope of Work: The Fundraising Consultant will help the ATCF draft a plan for fundraising in 2023. Prior to hiring, the consultant will propose a 30-60-90 day plan of what they will focus on. This will include:

● Review all ATCF documents related to development and fundraising and make recommendations/changes to improve these communication pieces.

● Identifying specific businesses, foundations and other organizations to target for funding ● Who we are targeting and collecting information about they fit with us, what they’re looking for etc.

● Draft “talking points” and “pitches” for bringing on new business member ● Develop a fundraising calendar

● Develop a pitch deck.

● Grant writing - support by drafting 1-2 grant applications that can be used to infor additional grant opportunities.
